2015 was shaadi year for these cricketers

Wedding bells rang this year as cricketers gave up their `available' status to enter a brand new innings of their lives. From Bhajji to Suresh Raina, let's take a look at who got hitched and who will be, soon...
It was a year of weddings for many cricketers, as they happily ended their bachelor innings this year to walk down the aisle. These poster boys of cricket, known for breaking records, broke many hearts as they got hitched to either `childhood friends' or `long-time girlfriends', hopefully for everlasting partnerships. The first wicket to fall this year was Suresh Raina's. The southpaw may have had problems facing the short ball, but he had no trouble travelling all the way to England to pop the question to childhood friend Priyanka Chaudhary , just after the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.“She had sensed what was coming and her reaction was `Mujhe pata tha'. Poora mazaa kharab ho gaya,“ Raina told in an interview. The couple tied the knot on April 3.
Dipika Pallikal, the noted squash player, had no fondness for the gentleman's game till wicket-keeper and batsman Dinesh Karthik caught her attention. The two became friends while working under the same trainer and Cupid did the rest to bring them together. After getting engaged in 2013, the duo married twice this year -first in a Christian ceremony and then, a couple of days later, in a Telugu-Naidu ceremony . In 2012, Dinesh had divorced his first wife, Nikita.
Harbhajan Singh was bowled over by Bollywood actress Geeta Basra way back in 2007, and he says he had to pursue her for a very long time.“She made me wait for a long time and said, `We will be friends first and then we'll see'. For me, it was love at first sight,“ Bhajji told in an interview recently . However, all this while, they never denied or admitted their relationship. Eight years later, in October, the confirmation came in the form of a big fat Punjabi wedding. While Sachin Tendulkar and wife Anjali attended Harbhajan's wedding in a gurdwara in Jalandhar, everyone -from PM Modi and former PM Manmohan Singh to ODI captain MS Dhoni--turned up at the grand reception in Delhi later. It was also the year Harbhajan made his comeback to the Indian team as well. Certainly balle-balle moments for this gendbaaz! It's the honeymoon period for one of India's opening batsmen in the limited overs' game, literally. The latest entrant to the `doubles club' is also the only cricketer to have scored two double centuries in ODIs -Rohit Sharma. He got hitched to his long-time girlfriend, Ritika Sajdeh earlier this month, and recently shared pictures from his honeymoon in Europe. Rohit has known Ritika for the last six years. She is a sports manager who handles a lot of cricketers, including Rohit. He proposed to her at the Borivali Sports Club in Mumbai, which, according to some media reports, is the ground where Rohit first played at the age of 11. Aww! Now we're hoping that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma will get inspired by all these nuptials, and announce their own, too!
