Sunday evening witnessed the grand wedding reception of Farhan Azmi and Heraa Shaikh at a five-star in South Mumbai. With lip-smacking food, impressive Tanoura dancers and a soulful performance by singer Harshdeep Kaur, the reception was graced by several dignitaries such as Javed Khan, Sanjay Nirupam, Dr Khaleequr Rahman, Yogendra Kumar, Devendra Gupta, Satish Bhardwaj, Gurudas Kamat, Kripashankar Singh, Aslam Shaikh, Amin Patel, Nadeem Javed, Siraj Mehdi, Eknath Shinde, Ram Kadam, Krishna Hegde, Abu Asim Azmi, Ram Seth Thakur, Manohar Bhoir, Mahendra Gharat, Sanjay Dina Patil, Ashok Basoya, Ragini Nayak, Manikrao Thackrey, Ashok Jadhav, Madhu Chavan, Vivek Patil, Prashant Thakur, Suresh Shetty, Yogesh Sagar, Hussain Dalwai, Mohd Azharuddin, Quaiser Khalid, Pravin Kumar Padwal, Deven Bharti, S Jaykumar, Anil Nanu, Manish Gehi, Nirmit Parekh, Suhas Basakhetre, Rahul Prabhakar and Vipul Varma. Adding a dash of glamour to the evening were celebs such as Anita Hassanandani, Ankit Raj, Gautam Vig, Ragini Nandwani, Vaishnavi Dhanraj, Kashish Vora, Parul Chaudhary, Vikram Razdan, Surbhi Jyoti, Aakash Jaiswal, Sunil Darshan and Aalim Hakim among others. The lavish but close-knit event had an exotic Moroccan theme. The bride and groom opted for elegant traditional attire with Heraa dressed in a gold and blue lehenga and Farhan looking dapper in a sherwani. Farhan, who is the chairman of a well-known business group, warmly greeted guests, which included his colleagues and associates. When asked how he felt after tying the knot, he said, “I’ve imagined this day so many times, it’s a great feeling now that it’s actually happening. I’m both nervous and excited to start this journey with Heraa.
You know what they say — the day you say your ‘I do’ only marks the beginning of an amazing life ahead.”
Heraa, who hails from Riyadh and has only been in Mumbai for a few years, added, “This is exactly how I expected my dream wedding to be — with Farhan by my side. We are looking forward to many beautiful moments together as marriage is not just the union of two people but also two families.”
The night came to an end with guests taking to the dance floor while shimmying to Bollywood beats led by the Azmi and Shaikh families.
