They say one can find love
in the most unimaginable places. Journalists and celebrities often
share very complex professional relationship.However, many have crossed
this mental barriers and formed personal bonds. The marriage of
broadcast journalist Amrita Rai with senior politician Digvijaya Singh
may be in the news for their huge age difference -Rai is 44 while Singh
is 68 -but is not a one-off instance when a journalist has tieed the
knot with a celebrity . There are many examples where journalists found
love in the line of their duty.
STUART BINNY-MAYANTI LANGER
The cricketer married television sports anchor Mayanti Langer in 2012. It's a classic case of finding love on the field. Stuart's image improved among cricket fans after tying the knot with the glamourous presenter and she became one of the most talkedabout Indian cricket WAGs since then.
MOHIT CHAUHAN-PRARTHNA GEHLOT
Bollywood playback singer Mohit Chauhan married his longtime friend, journalist Prarthna Gehlot, three years ago in a hush-hush ceremony at Shimla.
PRINCE PHILIPE-LETIZIA ORTIZ ROCASOLANO
A former journalist with an American news channel, Letizia was covering an oil slick along the Galicia shoreline in 2002 when she met Prince Felipe of Spain, who was visiting those affected by the disaster. The pair hit it off instantly, and walked down the aisle on May 22, 2004. They have two daughters.
IMRAN KHAN-REHAM KHAN
Politician and flamboyant former Pakistan cricketer Imran Khan tied the knot with international television presenter Reham Khan at his Islamabad residence in January this year.Imran, 62, is 20 years elder to her. Reham quit her job at the channel to be with her husband and now works with a Pakistani television channel.
JAVAGAL SRINATH-MADHAVI PATRAVALI
In 2007, the cricketer fell for Madhavi Patravali, who was then a journalist in a leading national English daily. Held in Mysore and attended by close family and friends, the wedding was a quiet affair. Srinath's second attempt at matrimony seems to have stood the test of time.
JITIN PRASADA-NEHA SETH
Politico Jitin Prasada was Minister of State, Petroleum and Natural Gas, when he married Neha Seth, a journalist with an English news channel, in 2010. She quit her job soon after tying the knot.
ALLAN WANGA-BRENDA WANGA
Brenda Wanga, reporter with a Kenyan news channel, is married to Kenyan footballer Allan Wanga, who plies his trade for Sudan Premier League.
THE FLIPSIDE...
Some journalists who married the famous faced occupational hazards because their choice of spouse led to a clash of interest: American political reporter Ronald Brownstein was banned from covering the 2000 Presidential race because his wife Eileen McMenamin was the chief spokeswoman for candidate Senator John McCain.
Matthew Cooper, former correspondent at a news magazine, was in an ethical dilemma because his wife Mandy Grunwald was chief ad strategist in Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign in 2007.
