After getting married in Shimla, celebrations shifted to Mumbai for television couple Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla. Their wedding reception was held at a Juhu lounge on Thursday night.

Dressed in a sheer gown, Rubina entered the party with Abhinav. And unlike most newly-weds, who simply meet and greet their guests, this couple ensured that they had oodles of fun on their special evening. Along with their friends and families, the two hit the dance floor with gusto.


The first celebrity to turn up and set the mood for the evening was Rubina’s reel father, Ayub Khan. Other attendees included Keerti Gaekwad and Sharad Kelkar, Gaurav Gera, Rajesh Khera, Amrita Prakash, Shakti Arora and Neha Saxena, and Rahoul Lohani. Drashti Dhami’s husband Neeraj Khemka made a rare appearance, too.

The highlight of the evening was the couple re-reciting their marriage vows, which were written by them. Before they cut their cake, the thoughtful duo also ordered cakes for producer Rashmi Sharma and Pawan Kumar; and actors Shilpa Saklani and Apurva Agnihotri, as their wedding anniversaries coincided with the reception. A special cup cake was also cut by the birthday boy and Rubina’s co-actor, Vivian Dsena.

Thursday evening saw a bevy of stars at a party hosted by Mukesh and Nita Ambani to celebrate the engagement of their son Akash Ambani with Shloka Mehta. Leading the pack of Bollywood celebs was Shah Rukh Khan who came with wife Gauri. Ranbir Kapoor walked in with director and bestie Ayan Mukerji. Though Alia Bhatt also turned up at the bash, Ranbir and the actress, who are dating each other, didn’t give the shutterbugs a chance to click them together. On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra walked in hand-in-hand with beau Nick Jonas, sending the cameras into a tizzy. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali also made an appearance. The other attendees included filmmakers Karan Johar and Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Meanwhile, another bash will be hosted today by the Ambanis to celebrate the engagement.

French model and actress Vanessa Paradis, known for her lengthy relationship with Johnny Depp, married French film director Samuel Benchetrit in France on Saturday. According to a French newspaper, the duo were wed in a small schoolhouse town hall in Saint-Simeon, a commune which is an hour away from Paris.

According to the publication, about two dozen guests attended the nuptials. For her big day, the 45-year-old donned a traditional white dress and a veil. The bridegroom wore a navy blue suit. The couple met when they worked together on the film Chien. The two became engaged last November, reports a daily.

The Ambani residence Antilla glittered like a jewel on Saturday evening as Mukesh and Nita Ambani threw a lavish party celebrating the engagement of their son, Akash Ambani, with Shloka Mehta. The couple looked regal with Akash sporting a maroon bandhgala and the bride-to-be in a shimmering light pink lehenga.

The celebration was made brighter as Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Sara Ali Khan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and wife Sunita, Ayan Mukerji, Parineeti Chopra, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vidya Balan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sidharth Malhotra made an appearance. Cricketers Harbhajan Singh and wife Geeta Basra, Sachin Tendulkar and wife Anjali were also a part of the occasion.


Friends of the couple — Akash and Shloka — put up a dance performance and were joined by SRK. Nita Ambani, along with daughter Isha Ambani also performed at the event. Singers Kailash Kher, Amit Trivedi, Darshan Doshi and Neeti Mohan regaled the guests with their romantic tunes.

Masaan actress Shweta Tripathi is now Shweta Tripathi Sharma. She married rapper Chaitanya Sharma (Slow Cheetah) in a traditional Hindu ceremony at a beach resort in Goa on Friday evening. The couple’s family and friends reached the venue on Thursday noon. The pre-wedding celebrations, including the haldi ceremony, were held on Friday morning. While talking to BT soon after the wedding, Shweta said, “I was waiting for the feeling to sink in and then, as soon as I heard the dhol from the baraat, my heart started racing. I couldn’t be happier.” When asked how her other half is dealing with the change in their relationship status, Shweta chuckled, “We were waiting for this day. Our friends and families’ happiness knew no bound. If there’s one thing we are sure of, it’s each other.”

Shweta and Chaitanya tied the knot on June 29. A week later, the bride turns a year older on July 6.
