Shalini and Rohit renew wedding vows on 10th anniversary

TV couple Shalini Kapoor and Rohit Sagar recently celebrated a milestone in their marriage. The duo completed 10 years of togetherness on July 10. And, rather than throwing a big party, they opted for a low-key ceremony where they renewed their wedding vows.

Shalini shares, “At a time when people are sceptical about getting married, we have completed 10 years together. In today’s scenario, it’s a milestone. We celebrated by going to the Siddhivinayak temple and seeking Bappa’s blessings. We also exchanged garlands and held a small puja, which was sudden decision. No plan seemed as exciting as expressing how much we dote on each other. We decided against throwing a party, as we are on a strict detox diet.”

The actress says that transparency is the key to a successful marriage. She adds, “Though there are no fixed formulas, it helps if you learn to appreciate whatever little your partner does for you in his or her unique way. Transparency is also a must.”

Wear that choker, stylishly!

Wear that choker, stylishly!
Here’s why the little neck band has become the new-age scarf

Got a meeting to attend and a party right after that? Here’s one accessory that can safely make it to both. A little choker, in fabric or metal can go just as well with a pinned-up bun and your shirt as well as a sequinned off-the-shoulder top and pants. A mix of femininity and tough sass, the accessory is a throwback to the 90s. Hollywood has a huge affinity for it — Kim Kardashian, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Kendall Jenner and Salma Hayek have been adding chokers to their tops and gowns. The resurgence of the fad has been huge on Instagram, runways and even on the red carpet. Time you got onto the choker fad, too...

PAIR IT RIGHT

It seems like an innocuous little piece of accessory, but it comes with a few style rules. Going to the office? Choose a single pearl choker or even a blackcorded one.

Heading out for a day around town or just to the spa? Team a black floral lace or crochet choker with a monochrome or floral off-shoulder top or dress.

Or keep it basic by wearing a simple black choker and metal pendant with a white T-shirt and jeans. If you’ve had enough of the usual pendants, go with a tassel hanging on it. For a night out, wear a jewelled version on satin or velvet. Studded chokers are part of the Goth look and can be worn with denim jeans. Team a lace choker with corset tops and gowns. Another rule is: smaller earrings must be worn with chokers, so avoid hanging chandelier styles.

Mimoh ties the knot with Madalsa

As reported exclusively by BT, Mahaakshay Chakraborty aka Mimoh and Madalsa Sharma tied the knot yesterday (July 10) in Ooty. Speaking to us right after the wedding, the bride’s mother, actress Sheela Sharma said, “We wanted to respect the court order and hence, postponed the wedding by a couple of days. Mimoh and Madalsa tied the knot yesterday between the muhurat of 12-12.30 pm. We had a mehendi and sangeet ceremony on July 9. Everything went off beautifully. It was overwhelming to see my daughter get married.” She added, “Everyone knew the truth (about the case). God was on our side, as we were right.”

The wedding plans seemed to have hit a roadblock after Mimoh was accused of rape, cheating and wrongful termination of pregnancy by a Bhojpuri actress last week. His mother . , former actress Yogeeta Bali, was also named in the complaint. Last week, the Bombay High Court had rejected Mimoh and Yogeeta’s bail plea, following which the duo moved the Rohini court (Delhi), which granted them interim bail.

BRIDAL BEAUTY HACKS TO LOOK YOUR BEST ON YOUR BIG DAY

If you’re counting down to your wedding day, worrying about how you’ll look in your dress is probably one of many significant considerations. But in the midst of worrying about what you’re going to wear, it’s also important to consider your beauty regime leading up to the big day too.

From looking at what foods you should be eating to the beauty treatments worth doing, we’ve enlisted industry insiders to share their top tips — and the products worth investing in to help ensure you look your very best on your special day.

START LOOKING AT YOUR DIET

Changing your diet two or more months before getting married can be an effective (and straightforward) way to give your skin and body a reset and refresh. Nutritionist Christine Bailey, shares what you should be incorporating in the run-up to the big day: “One of the easiest and cheapest ways to make improvements to your skin and general well-being is to look at what you pile on your plate. Remove the refined sugary foods, skip the dairy and add in plenty of colourful antioxidant rich vegetables and fruits to protect the skin, support healing and lower inflammation,” she says.

DON’T GET A FACIAL TOO CLOSE TO THE BIG DAY

It’s probably not a smart move to get an aggressive facial peel just before the wedding. Depending on the facial, it could take days (or even weeks) for redness to fully subside. And you also won’t see the full effect of a facial after just one. Dr. Justine Hextall, consultant dermatologist, explains why. “One often needs a series of facial treatments for maximum effect and there is often at least a two-week break between each treatment. I always advise fastidious sun avoidance before, during and after such treatments to prevent unwanted skin hyperpigmentation.”

DO REGULAR DEEP CONDITIONING TREATMENTS ON YOUR HAIR

Want shiny, luscious locks for your big day? Then finding a good conditioner to use regularly is a must. Neil Moodie, session stylist, says leaving conditioner on long enough to penetrate and a once-a-week treatment

is essential — especially on dry damaged hair. He advises to “leave on for at 20-mins, a g ain allowing the ingredients to penetrate into the hair shaft properly.”

AVOID DRINKING THE NIGHT BEFORE

Hydration is keyto photograph-ready skin. Dr. Justine Hextall recommends “healthy juices and a good night’s sleep” to see you through the next day. She adds: “Try to avoid the temptation of too many celebratory cocktails, stick to water and juice if you can. Before sleeping gently cleanse the skin, and apply a good layer or your favourite moisturiser. Most importantly relax.”

AVOID APPLYING HIGHLIGHTER

If you haven’t enlisted a professional make-up artist, then devising the perfect bridal look can be tricky. Beauty expert Bryony Blake suggests avoiding the temptation to load on product. “It’s a case of enhancing your features without being too heavy handed.” She is also against using tons of highlighter. “Go easy on the shimmer and instead opt for something that can create a dewy, natural look, that looks like your skin glows from within,” she suggests.
